A Handful of Garnets

Jewellery is laden with associations and imbued with meaning. This garnet pendant is a case in point. My client picked up handful of garnets on a trip to India, thinking she might make a daisy-shaped necklace. Twenty years later the stones remained unset, in a drawer. However, the desire to fulfil her original idea was undiminished. This unique pendant is a lovely reminder of a very special time.

Garnet	greatly varies in colour and varieties, from red to deep purple, and light to dark green. Mistakenly thought to be a cheap substitute for ruby, the beautiful properties of garnet are often overlooked. Our luscious, luminous, deep-red garnets exude luxury. Garnet is said to be an energising, protective stone, aiding creativity and inspiring love and passion.
